Equality. A Dream? Possibly no other American politician has done more to thwart the realization of Martin's dream. Certainly no other American president has done more to thwart the realization of Martin's dream. What about Rice and Powell? Maybe that's all it takes to insure America's ignorance? Maybe that's all it takes to get Americans to accept the semantic legerdemain of the newsmedia. Maybe that's all it takes to get Americans to believe that The Bell Curve says something other than what it quite obviously says.

Martin had a dream. The Good Ole Boys have a different dream. Inherent difference in intelligence with blacks at the bottom of the scale? Inate difference in intelligence with blacks at the bottom of the scale? Two ways to state euphemistically that blacks are the most genetically inferior race. Without using the term "genetically inferior race." Are you fooled by these semantic devices? Or are you amused at how efficacious they are for the Good Ole Boys? Equality was the term Martin Luther King used. We are quite sure that the lame ex post facto data fitting of The Bell Curve was not part of Martin's dream. Martin Luther King's dream notwithstanding, the Good Ole Boys are unabashedly enthusiastic about the book and refer to it often both implicitly and explicitly as they relentlessly and systematically derail Martin's dream.

King's 'I Have a Dream' Speech Celebrated, August 23, 2003
"'The focus of that day was a promise, the promise of equal protection under the law for all citizens, the promise of equal access to education,' Jesse Jackson said in an interview on the Mall. 'The promises of evening the playing field have been broken.'"
"'I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,'' he said. 'I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.' But Jackson, though, said the Bush administration had instituted a 'closed-door policy' that put up 'very stiff resistance.' He said current policies were anti-civil rights..."
Story...

Try this. Just raise your shoulders and ssy, "Oh, well." Maybe you could just try thinking about something else.

There is a group of iceholes which VeeJay dislikes. Intensely. These kleptocratic clowns and friends have won her intense dislike the old-fashioned way, they earned it.

The One-And-Only-One-Way Arrowheads

Avarice is never satisfied.
Are not the Bushies the supreme example of insatiable avarice?

It has been the legalization of divorce and not the legalization of sodomy which has made divine sanctioning of forced lifetime monogamous heterosexual pairing an endangered concept.

The nuclear family takes a hit
Census data deals a blow to an American icon -- and the conservative groups that promote it.
by Amy Benfer, June 07, 2001
"We all know what the nuclear family looks like: It looks like a cliche, a fond and fuzzy cliche evoked by episodes of "Leave It to Beaver" or "Ozzie and Harriet." These potent icons are faded and fictional, not to mention completely overwhelmed by general cultural consensus and demographic studies. Yet the "ideal" American family -- a father and a mother, bound to each other by legal marriage, raising children bound to them by biology -- is a stubborn relic, a national symbol that has yet to be retired as threadbare and somewhat unrealistic.
Everything has changed: In the past three decades the rates of divorce, single parenting and cohabitation have risen precipitously. And these developments come from a generation of people who were born and raised to count marriage and parenthood as important milestones of successful adulthood. In other words, Americans seem to have left the nuclear-family model behind -- despite the persistent belief of their elders that it is the blueprint for happiness and moral rectitude."

Editorial Reviews, Amazon.com
"Rush Limbaugh claims his talent is on loan. With this book, Franken demonstrates that he owns. The frankly Democratic author's shtick reminds us how much of a free ride conservatives have gotten in the mainstream media. For instance, he really drives home the weirdness of the conservatives' preachiness about "family values" in light of Newt Gingrich's and Bob Dole's first marriages, and Rush Limbaugh's first, second and third marriages. And he has great fun with Rush's and Newt's miraculous draft deferments in a chapter where he imagines all of the great conservative "chicken-hawks" out on a Vietnam war patrol under the leadership of Ollie North."

Troop deployments and oil map of Mid-East
region is already out of date, there being many tens of thousands of troops added each year before and since the Iraq house cleaning.

Solar Cells, Wind Mills, Fuel Cells and the Hydrogen Era.
When, oh when, will serious efforts be made to put them into widespread use? Don't hold your breath. Many believe these alternative forms of energy hold great promise. If that were so, how can the stealth takeover of the oil reserves in the Mid-East, Northern Africa, and elsewhere be explained?

Do Fuel Cells change the energy big picture?
Not really.
